In 2004 the Younes family and the American University in Cairo (AUC) established a fund dedicated to the memory of Nadia. The fund was made possible with the generous contributions and donations from people all around the world who knew Nadia and the Younes family.
AUC has earned a global reputation for educating generations of leaders in business, science, media and the humanities in Egypt and throughout the Middle East. An institution with a distinctive undergraduate academic program, a world-class faculty, outstanding graduate students, and a tradition of innovative and rigorous multidisciplinary study, AUC is committed to quality education and intellectual freedom.
AUC gives special consideration and recognizes the work and lifetime contributions of individuals whose accomplishments embody the university’s responsibility to learn, lead and serve. One such person was the late Nadia Younes, an exceptional person who made outstanding efforts throughout her life to further international humanitarian affairs around the world. An individual who had an extraordinarily charismatic character, Nadia Younes is truly an ideal role model for generations of young and aspiring Arabs.
Nadia Younes was an accomplished and respected person whose contributions will guide and inspire the youth of Egypt and the region for generations to come. Furthermore, AUC’s place as an international crossroad provides an ideal arena through which to promote her life’s work and passion.
